Catarina Belim and Inês Moreira dos Santos will be in Madrid from 11–13 March representing BELIM at the International Fiscal Association European Region Conference, dedicated to “Emerging Trends in International Taxation: Europe and Its Global Connections”.
Catarina Belim will speak in Panel III – “VAT and Tariffs: Indirect Taxation Impact on International Transactions” — alongside leading VAT and customs experts:
The panel will be chaired by Maria Teresa Deltell (Partner at Garrigues).
This session will offer a deep dive into the complexities of VAT in cross-border trade and digital services, addressing harmonisation efforts, e-commerce taxation and the challenges posed by divergent VAT regimes worldwide.
Inês Moreira dos Santos will also be attending the conference and participating in the working sessions.
The conference brings together leading experts, academics and practitioners to discuss key developments in international taxation, including the challenges of globalisation, sustainability and innovation in tax systems, and pathways toward fairer and more effective fiscal policies.
